An Airbnb cleaning company can take turnovers off your plate: they handle scheduling, supplies and backup staff, and you deal with one contact. That convenience comes at a price and with some trade-offs, so it pays to choose carefully. This guide covers what to look for, how pricing usually works and what should make you walk away.
What a good company offers
- Experience with short-term rentals, including same-day turnovers, linen handling and restocking.
- Backup coverage, so a sick or double-booked cleaner does not leave you without a clean.
- Clear communication: confirmations, arrival updates and a named person to contact.
- Proof of the work, such as photos after each clean and a way to report damage or low supplies.
- Insurance they can document, and a straight answer about whether helpers are covered.
How pricing usually works
Companies tend to price in one of three ways: a flat rate per clean based on bedrooms and bathrooms, an hourly rate, or a package for recurring service. Ask which applies, what is included in the base price and what costs extra, such as laundry, restocking, deep cleaning, hot tubs or same-day requests. Compare two or three quotes on the same written scope so that you are not comparing different services.
Company or independent cleaner?
A company usually gives you more reliability and coverage. An independent cleaner can give you more flexibility and a direct relationship, often at a lower overhead. Many hosts use both: a main cleaner plus a company as the backup. If you are weighing the two, our guide on choosing between an independent cleaner and a cleaning company goes into the differences.

Questions to ask a cleaning company
- How many short-term rentals do you serve in my area?
- Who will actually clean my property, and will it be the same person each time?
- What happens if the assigned cleaner cannot make a turnover?
- What does your base price include and exclude?
- Do you carry liability insurance, and can I see a certificate?
- How do you handle complaints, damage or a missed clean?
- Is there a contract, and what is the cancellation term?
Red flags
- No written scope or price, or a quote that changes after you agree.
- A long contract with heavy cancellation penalties before you have seen their work.
- No answer to who is covered by insurance.
- Reviews that never mention reliability, or no reviews at all.
- Pressure to prepay for months of service.
Test before you commit
Start with a single turnover or a short trial period and review the result against your checklist. The first clean shows you their real standard, their communication and how they handle a small problem.
On Host Wingman you can post your turnover and compare bids from local cleaners and cleaning businesses side by side, with reviews and any licensed, insured or bonded badges they have listed. Badges are entered by the cleaner and are not verified by Host Wingman, so ask for proof when it matters.
